He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, having also successfully completed the Final examination of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, an MBA, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA).

With over 35 years of distinguished service, Mr. Murty has held key positions in renowned organizations such as Rashtriya Ispat Niham Ltd, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and The KCP Ltd, Chennai. During his tenure, he served as the Head of the Finance Department at Rashtriya Ispat Niham Ltd, contributing significantly to the company's financial management and control strategies.

Mr. Murty's tenure as the Chief Financial Officer at The KCP Ltd, Chennai, spanning about 8 years, further showcased his exceptional financial acumen. His areas of expertise include complete financial management and control, treasury management, funding arrangements for large projects, evaluation of mergers and acquisitions, foreign exchange management, compliance with listing guidelines of stock exchanges, direct and indirect tax compliances & management, investor relations, negotiations with suppliers including large quantities of imported bulk commodities like coal, and support for logistics management.
